The cover for barrier elements is designed to cover a longitudinal portion of a barrier element such as the New Jersey barrier (Figure 1) which separates lanes and roads and rails and safety fences (Figure 2) which are positioned to prevent vehicles from travelling off the road or crossing railway barriers, among other things.
The cover’s innovative technology is based on the type of material used for the construction of the product and its placement. This material fulfills two main requirements that characterize the cover and make it innovative:
The material used to build the CAB system is granulated rubber obtained by processing used tires. Granulated rubber is characterized by excellent tensile, bending and compression properties. Furthermore, this material has excellent thermal and acoustic insulation properties.
The cover satisfies environmental needs, as it comes from a highly contaminating waste and is environmentally friendly.
